We are proud to be slow fashion. What is this? It’s the opposite of fast fashion (fashion that is made to be worn a couple of times and then thrown away). All of our pieces are made to last a lifetime. We only use high quality 14kt gold-filled and 925 sterling silver in our designs. And we stand by our pieces, happily repairing any broken or damaged items.

It’s important to give back to the community and protect the things that are important to you. For us that means giving back to ocean conservation efforts and doing what we can to help spread awareness to issues facing many marine species.

How We Give Back

1. Donating to Non-profits

   We have made a commitment to helping protect our oceans and the amazing animals that call it home. This is why we donate 10-20% of all profits to ocean conservation efforts. We donate directly to 3 vetted non-profits: Shark Allies, Coral Restoration Foundation, and Roatan Marine Park. Each of these organization work tirelessly to help make a difference in marine conservation.

1. • • Main goal is to protect sharks and rays by raising awareness and guiding initiatives that reduce harm done to sharks through overfishing.
     • 2 big things they are tackling right now are working to set up legislation to stop shark finning in the EU and gillnetting in California
     • They have contributed to 7 Shark fin trade bans, 13 species valuation reports, over 300k signatures raised, and over 200 positive media stories.
     • Their impact has helped save countless sharks from atrocious practices.

   • Coral Restoration Foundation

     • • Main goals are to help protect and rebuild coral reefs, educate the public on the importance of the oceans, and research/monitor coral reefs.
       • They research coral reefs and transplant new corals to help rebuild local reefs.
       • They also partner with and provide resources for other organizations wanting to rebuild reefs around the world.
       • They farm and outplant colonies of staghorn and elkhorn corals. Have restored more than 17,500 square meters of Florida’s coral reef.

   • Roatán Marine Park

     • • • Main goal is the conservation of Roatán’s protected marine and coastal areas.
         • ~750 lionfish hunters certified, 1k patrols conducted, more than 650 coral fragments transplanted, and 2k people reached through education
         • They educate students from around the world on coral reefs and their importance.
         • They also engage with their community through beach/mangrove/reef cleanups, and waste management initiatives.

2. Beach Cleanups

   We also host/participate in beach and other waterway cleanup efforts. By removing trash and other debris from the shorelines we can help protect marine life from pollution that would otherwise make its way into the ocean.

3. Raising Awareness

We aim to raise awareness to issues the ocean and many marine animals face so that more people can get involved and help protect our underwater world. Only by working together and getting involved will we be able to make a difference.

 

 

How your Purchase Makes a Difference

Every purchase helps us in our efforts to help support ocean conservation efforts and protect marine wildlife. With every item sold we donate a minimum of 10% of profits to our partner non-profit organizations.

Your support also allows us to be involved in waterway cleanup efforts, either through Hosting events or participating in local events.
